Put the photo quote against a measured job
Roooster says its AI can identify surfaces, estimate area, and draft Good, Better, Best options from a photo. The quoting page describes a 30-second flow; the homepage says about 90 seconds. Neither figure is an independent timing test. More important, its terms make the contractor responsible for reviewing the output before sending a price or scope to a customer.
For the demo, bring photos and measurements from three completed jobs: a simple driveway, a multi-story property, and one with awkward access. Compare the suggested quantities, exclusions, labor, and final price with the actual records. A fast draft is useful only if the estimator can spot and correct a bad one.
Follow a job from dispatch to payment on a weak connection
The public pages show a calendar, route planning, crew updates, customer approvals, invoicing, and payments. They also claim offline field use. The visible product illustrations are promotional mockups, not authenticated screenshots of a live account or proof of offline synchronization.
My field test would change an appointment after the technician leaves, add photos and notes with the phone offline, reconnect it, then check what the dispatcher and customer see. It would also include a payment, refund, and invoice correction. No attributable app-store listing or independent field-use sample was established in this review.
Get the price and renewal terms into one document
The web pricing link redirected to Roooster's plans app, which displayed 'Plans are temporarily unavailable' when checked. That blocks a current plan-to-plan comparison. The terms say web subscriptions can renew weekly, monthly, annually, or on another checkout period. A web customer can cancel in billing settings or by email, with access ordinarily ending after the paid period. Later charges are generally nonrefundable.
The same terms describe an eligible 14-day web trial and a 14-day refund request window after the first web charge. They separately describe a planned iOS offer of $7.99 per week with a three-day introductory period, subject to Apple's purchase sheet. I would ask for the exact channel, term, user limits, payment fees, and trial eligibility on the order I am actually offered.
Test the export before the account holds years of history
Roooster's terms let customers request their data during service and for 30 days after termination. The retention policy says a closed account enters a 30-day recoverable period and targets permanent removal within 90 days, with limited legal and security exceptions. It does not say that every photo, message, signature, job event, and payment reference will arrive in a reusable export.
Request a sample export while the account is active and open it outside Roooster. The policy still labels quote-photo, security-log, email-metadata, and error-log retention as settings to confirm against production. Those details belong in a written data-processing answer, not an assumption from a marketing page.
Separate published controls from independent assurance
The security page describes TLS, encrypted PostgreSQL storage, database row-level tenant isolation, Argon2id password hashing, and logged privileged access. Those are useful details to take into a security review, but they are vendor statements. Roooster says SOC 2 Type I preparation is underway; no issued report was available in the reviewed public material.
My security request would cover the current DPA, subprocessor list, backup and recovery commitments, incident-notice process, and the status of any independent assessment. The bookkeeper should test what QuickBooks sends in each direction; a named integration does not tell me how a corrected invoice or duplicate customer is handled.
The company is traceable; the operating record is young
The terms name BE BETTER NOW LLC as the Florida contracting entity. That entity's filing predates the product's reported July 2026 launch, so four years of corporate age should not be read as four years of Roooster software use. Public reporting names co-founder Adrian Gonzalez and connects him to HVAC work. The support page provides an email address and says replies typically come the same business day, but no general phone line or service-level commitment was verified.
I found no confidently matched LinkedIn company page or mainstream review sample to measure the team or customer experience. That is an evidence limit, not a verdict on the product. I would ask for customer references with a similar trade and crew size, then put our hardest job through a supervised pilot before making Roooster the system of record.
